I don’t want to live in Frank McDonald’s Dublin

Sir, – Regarding “I want to live in Frank McDonald’s Dublin” (Eoin Ó Broin, Books, January 23rd), what is the story with the weird adulation of Frank McDonald in The Irish Times? Who appointed him as the definitive authority on how Dublin should develop? I think we all get the message at this stage – he hates tall buildings.

Well I am from Dublin and I don’t.

I would much rather we build upwards than continue with our disastrous urban sprawl policy. There is a massive housing crisis in the city and Frank in his role as “Chief Nimby” is a big part of the problem. – Yours, etc,

JAMES GRANT,

Lucan,

Co Dublin.
