Digital strategy for schools

Sir, – Further to "Government wants to put wifi networks into classrooms as part of €210m digital strategy" (October 7th), I do not believe it necessary for youngsters to have wifi in schools. Most people have it at home, and what is wrong with a textbook? Certainly, one should introduce them to ASCII, hexadecimal, and machine code in mathematics classes but youngsters have plenty of time at home to learn how to Google something. – Yours, etc,

COLM O’CONNOR,
