Sir - Following my three articles on Archbishop McQuaid (April 4th, 6th and 7th), I wish to thank the many readers who have contacted me to offer comment s or reminiscences. Before completing my book, John Charles McQuaid, Power-broker of Catholic Ireland, I would welcome further recollections or stories. Copies of his correspondence or originals will be returned after photocopying.

As well as hearing from those involve in "the high politics" of ecclesiastical, educational and health developments, I would like to get in touch with readers who benefited from his kindness or were affected by his policies on such matters as the ban on Trinity College, adoption, mixed marriage, his opposition to contraception and divorce, then Magdalene Homes, boys' clubs and his voluntary youth movement. All sources will be acknowledged or treated in confidence according to the wishes of the informants. - Yours etc., John Cooney.
