Sir, – Reading the obituary of my father, Norman Armstrong, (Obituaries, January 26th), I could see a wry smile flicker across my father’s face when in the piece you state: “As a man, Armstrong had an old-style courtesy. To his journalists he stressed clarity of writing, sound grammar, and the absolute need for accuracy.” Then glance to the top of the obituary where it proclaims the death of Norman “Anderson” – the absolute need for accuracy! Thank you for remembering him in your pages. – Yours, etc,

DAVID ARMSTRONG,

Walcot Square,

London, England.
