Madam, - Ashling Bolger's plea "let us decide for ourselves" (Teen Times, October 24th) sounds eminently reasonable until we realise that she is referring to the issue of abortion, which she admits is "killing someone".
To compound matters, she then compares the choice involved to deciding whether or not to purchase a Ferrari.
Now, while Ashling's writing is much to be admired, her grasp of logic leaves a lot be desired. By all means let Ashling decide most matters for herself but, please will she desist from equating the purchase of inanimate objects with the killing of babies, and inform herself of the heartbreak of those who, for whatever seemingly genuine reason, chose abortion?
There has to be a better way. - Yours, etc,
