A match for the GAA

Sir, – The decision of the GAA’s CCCC that the Kildare v Mayo football championship match will be played at St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge is not just a victory reminiscent of David over Goliath but a victory for right over wrong.

If the unyielding, tenacious and stubborn resistance shown by the Kildare County Board off the field of play in their stand against the GAA Central Council is matched on the field of play by the Kildare players, then maybe this Kildare team just might have a busy third Sunday in September. – Yours, etc,

TOM COOPER,

Templeogue, Dublin 6W.
