A lack of joined-up thinking on the Metro

Sir – While extra capacity on the Luas would be appreciated by those who must endure the daily suffocating commute on the service, a disruption of two to four years does not appear to be the clear solution (Olivia Kelly, Front page, February 21st).

As both Dublin airport and city approach capacity, improvements in the capital’s lagging infrastructure would be more than welcome – provided they make sense.

Rather than re-engineering a service which already serves thousands of passengers daily, it may be worth examining the idea of connecting the Metro with a new Luas line. Yours, etc.
