Sir. – Your recent letters on Honda 50 nostalgia, combined with current events, remind me of trying to find petrol for my Honda 50, while on reserve (yes, it had a fuel “reserve” of sorts), in Limerick in the mid-1970s.
I remember pleading at one petrol station for just a pint, which would take me a long way, but no luck – the pump was dry.
In spite of what Taoiseach Micheál Martin says, I think we have a bit to go before having our worst fuel crisis ever. – Yours, etc,
