Reading Ulysses may help one qualify as a ‘spoofer’

The work contains some wonderful characters that might fit that description

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – Tony Bridgeman (Letters, March 20th) seems to have a “chip on his shoulder about Bloomsday celebrations that facilitates “spoofers presenting as experts wandering in an out of well-heeled south city bars while loudly expressing their love and knowledge of something that makes not an ounce of sense to anyone”.

If Bridgeman takes the time and effort to read Ulysses he might discover some wonderful characters in the book that might qualify as “spoofers”. He might then feel qualified to join in the celebrations on Bloomsday. – Yours, etc,

MIKE MORAN (possibly a spoofer),

Clontarf,
