Crosaire has taken something of a backseat to Simplex in recent days

Sir, - I read with envy the recent laments about the occasional difficult clue in the Simplex crossword. I possess a highly dyslexic, engineering-wired brain and if I manage to complete more than 50 per cent of Simplex, I count it as a personal triumph.

By contrast, it is a rare day indeed when I fail to complete over 80 per cent of Crosaire. Go figure – quite literally. - Yours, etc,

Sir, - As a decades-long devotee of Simplex, I have developed a complex about talking to the uninitiated about my daily ritual. This is because the title of the puzzle gives them the wrong impression as to just how complex Simplex is. - Yours. etc,
