Sir, – I enjoyed Brianna Parkins’s insightful observations on Irish mores and quirks (“In Ireland you’re blessed with daily poetry in the most mundane interactions”, Magazine, September 14th).
This weekend I welcomed home my daughter from the blistering 40 degree heat of the west coast of the United States after a J1 summer stint.
Ireland’s unexpected glorious September sunshine surely befitted my greeting: “You brought the good weather home with you.” – Yours, etc,
