Sir, – I do not like to contradict the Government or the Minister for Justice but the plain fact is that central Dublin is a very unsafe place for an unwary person at any time of the day or night. Just look at the headlines over the last few years.
I lived in central Dublin for many years and revelled in the ambiance, wit and gaiety of our capital city. I do not feel at ease there any more when I visit.
Can we please have some uniforms on the streets as opposed to virtually none, which seems to be the current position ? – Yours, etc,
