Sir, – I spend half my time in Ireland and half in France. Recently I bought an EV to do my little bit for global warming.
In France using my home charger I pay 12c per kw (or 9c overnight) and I have used reasonably priced public chargers extensively.
Back in Dublin I was shocked to find that ESB charges the public from 56c to 68c depending on charging speed.
One might be able to overlook the gouging pricing, the unreliable app/website and the ridiculous pay as you go card (as if it was a phone not a car one was topping up), but when one is stuck at a charger and calls their “24/7 helpline” and they never call back, then it’s time to call out the disaster of a service they provide.

My advice is if you use ESB public chargers, then keep a duvet in your boot. – Yours, etc,
