Sir, – I see that the renowned world traveller Mary Robinson has now turned up in Washington to reveal (as we all already knew) that the world is in a dangerous situation (”’Doomsday Clock’ set closer to the end than ever”, World, January 25th). Rather than travelling to Washington for this unveiling stunt, climate change activist Mrs Robinson would have been well advised to take a course in self-awareness before resuming her lectures to the rest of us about environmental issues. – Yours, etc,
