Sir, – It’s a waste of time for TDs to be acting the social worker in trying to expedite passport delivery for constituents. That’s not their job. (“Politicians send 12,000 queries to Passport Service so far this year”, June 7th)
But more importantly, when a TD writes a letter to the Passport Office, time in that office is taken up dealing with this, rather than progressing applications. Thus, the action of TDs will actually slow down the process.
But of course the TDs don’t care as long as they can clock up one more vote for the next election. – Yours, etc,
