Two youths armed with a hatchet have stolen a quantity of cash from a Co Galway post office this afternoon.
The raid happened in the village of Killimor at 4 p.m. The youths made their escape in car which was later found abandoned near Woodford.
According to gardaí the two youths continued their escape across a nearby bog. A Garda helicopter searched the area but no arrests have been made.
The amount of money taken has not been disclosed.
