A 17-year-old Meath youth who sexually assaulted a taxi-driver's wife while he was working a night shift had gone to the couple's house to carry out the assault, Trim Circuit Court heard yesterday.

The youth, who also pleaded guilty to robbing an 86-year-old woman, was sentenced to five years' detention.

Judge Raymond Groarke imposed a three-year sentence for the robbery and two years and three months for the sexual assault.
