THE Minister for Agriculture, Mr Yates, will today chair a meeting between the Pandoro Shipping line and the IEA, and live cattle exporters in an effort to get the company to alter its rules on carrying livestock on ferries.

Since early in 1995, Pandoro, which operates the P&O line, has carried only breeding heifers and bans the carriage of animals for slaughter or calves for European veal crates.

On Wednesday, the Minister said that he was hopeful of a breakthrough.
