A World Wide Web site with information for asthma and allergy sufferers around Europe was introduced in Dublin yesterday. The Asthma Society of Ireland hopes that the State's 250,000 asthma sufferers will benefit.

The EFAnet can be found at http://www.efanet.org. It contains sections on allergies, answers to the most frequently asked questions, news, children and teenagers.

The site has been set up by the European Federation of Asthma and Allergy Associations (EFA) supported by Astra Pharmaceuticals, which provides allergy and asthma treatments. The EFA says it is estimated in the US that 25 par cent of Internet traffic is health related.
