The President, Mrs Robinson, is to address the inaugural meeting of the Council for the Status of People with Disabilities at Dublin Castle in June.

An ad hoc group is currently devising a structure, creating an electorate and drafting a constitution for an interim council. The interim council will then set up a permanent council to represent all people with disabilities in Ireland.
