Two women who posed as gardaí in an attempt to enter the home of two elderly bachelors and steal money avoided prison at Limerick Circuit Court yesterday.

Kate O’Brien (21), Shoulders Lane, Mallow, and Louise Galvin (24), Richmond Green, Buttevant, both Cork, were arrested on July 20th, 2009, as part of an investigation in Limerick. Judge Carroll Moran imposed a two-year jail term on each of the women, which he suspended for two and three years respectively.
