Woman killed in Limerick fall

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in the city last night.

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in the city last night.

The woman (25) fell from the top floor of an apartment complex on Clare Street and was impaled on railings below. The incident occurred at about 12.30am.

A Garda spokesman said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Limerick General Hospital where a post mortem examination is to be conducted this afternoon.

The scene of the fall is being preserved for a technical examination.
