Woman held over Dublin abduction

A woman in her mid-20s has been arrested in connection with the abduction of a man in Dublin last week.

Gardaí investigating the abduction in East Wall last Thursday have also located a car they believe was involved in the incident.

The black VW Golf car was found in a car park at Killegland Apartments, Ashbourne, Co. Meath on Saturday evening and is now undergoing a technical examination.

The abudcted man, who is in his twenties, was chased by a group of men on Russell Avenue, East Wall, at about 4.45pm before being beaten and bundled into the car, which was driven away at speed. Gardaí have said they are "very concerned" for the man's safety.

Witnesses said the car had a rear spoiler, spoked wheels and tinted windows. It was in the “boy racer” style.

The woman arrested this afternoon is currently being held at Store Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
