A woman was held hostage in west Belfast while her captors demanded money from her filling station manager relative, police said today.

The victim said she was forced to drive from south Belfast to Glencolin Close on November 24th where she was put in a white van.

She was detained by her kidnappers for several hours while they sought cash from the relative. She was released unhmarmed on the Ballykennedy Road, Nutt's Corner, Co Antrim, later that afternoon.

The raiders fled empty-handed.

The PSNI has appealed for witnesses.
