A HEAD ON collision between two cars on the Cork Dublin road about half a mile outside Fermoy, Co Cork, resulted in the death yesterday of a Dublin woman. Gardai in Mitchelstown, who were at the scene within minutes, said the woman, who was not named, died instantly in the collision.
It is understood the Dublin woman and her husband were driving towards Cork. The other car, also with two passengers, contained a Canadian couple who were driving in the opposite direction.
The crash occurred at 3.30 p.m., and gardai in Mitchelstown said they were seeking witnesses.
A Garda spokesman said no names were being released at present.
