Gardaí are investigating a suspected hit-and-run in Co Cavan last night in which a 19 year-old woman was killed.
The woman died after she was struck by a vehicle at Burrenrea at around 3.50am.
Gardaí are particularly interested in making contact with a male who telephoned Bailieboro Garda Station shortly before 4am.
The road remains closed and is being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí have also called on any member of the public who may have been in the area between 3.30am and 4.10am to contact them at 042-9694570 or at the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
