An 18 year-old woman has appeared before Kilkenny District Court this evening in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man at a house party in Co Kilkenny earlier this week.

Caroline Brennan, of Love Lane, Castlecomer, was charged with causing assault to Michael Brennan at an address in Barrack Street, Castlecomer, on Monday morning.

Ms Brennan is a sister of the deceased.

Michael Brennan (22) from Church Avenue, Castlecomer, died at a house party in the town at around 3.30am on Monday morning. 

Ms Bennan was remanded in custody and will appear in court again next Monday.
