Wodehouse `in pay of Nazis'

London - British comic author P.G

London - British comic author P.G. Wodehouse was in the pay of Nazi Germany during the second World War and would have faced trial for treachery had he returned to England, according to intelligence agency documents released yesterday.

MI5 files suggest the author was paid by the German embassy in Paris. Wodehouse moved to the US in August 1944, and lived there until his death in 1975.
