A woman who died in a crash in Co Laois yesterday is expected to be named today

A woman who died in a crash in Co Laois yesterday is expected to be named today. The victim, who was in her 80s, was fatally injured after losing control of her car at Windygap Road, Stradbally, at 11.30am.

The woman, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, where she was pronounced dead. No other vehicle was involved.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them at Portlaoise Garda station (057 86741000) the Garda confidential telephone line (1800 666 111) or at any Garda station.
