West Ham turn down Lampard bids

West Ham have turned down two multi-million pound bids for want-away midfielder Frank Lampard.

West Ham have turned down two multi-million pound bids for want-away midfielder Frank Lampard.

The England international wants to leave Upton Park following the departure of his father Frank Snr who was assistant to former manager Harry Redknapp.

And although the Hammers are resigned to losing Lampard's services this summer, they seem determined to hold out for the highest possible price with Redknapp saying earlier this week that could be as high as stg£14million.

"We have just turned down a bid of stg£12million for Frank, which is the second offer in excess of stg£10milliion we have had for him this week," managing director Paul Aldridge told the club's official website.

"While we reluctantly accept that Frank wishes to leave, the price must be right. We will be sticking by our valuation of a player who, we believe, will go on to be an England regular in the not too distant future."
