Montreal - The search for the youngest son of the former Canadian prime minister, Mr Pierre Trudeau, who was swept away by an avalanche in British Columbia on Friday, was delayed until visibility improved and avalanche risks lessened, according to police.

Police in Nelson, BC, said Michel Trudeau (23) was missing and presumed drowned in Kokanee Lake after he and three other hikers were struck by an avalanche.
