Father: Peter Keaney

"On the day Sheola made her First Holy Communion, I remember looking at her in the church and thinking to myself that the next time I see her in a white dress, it will be on her wedding day.

"And I thought how proud I would be to walk her up the aisle to marry someone who could love and respect her for the person that she is. Now there will be no wedding day, no 21st birthday, no graduation, no grandchildren."

"I sometimes dream that I get to the place where you died just in time to save you, then wake up to realise you are gone. I dread to think how you suffered, I try to block it out, you poor child . . .

"You used to say that everybody loved you. The first day, I went up to water the flowers on your grave, I said to myself, 'This is pathetic - all I can do for you now is look after your grave, this is not right.'"
