The Progressive Unionist Party has said it was "more than likely" that the UVF was responsible for a gun attack on a loyalist in south Belfast on Monday night. The man escaped injury when shots were fired at him as he stood outside Sandy Row Rangers' Supporters Club. The attack has been linked to the murder of "Shankill butcher" Robert Bates two years ago.
