Sinn Féin leaders Mr Gerry Adams and Mr Martin McGuinness should be investigated for involvement in "major international criminal activity", Ulster Unionist MP Mr David Burnside told the Commons today.
He said police should investigate the pair and a third man named in a BBC documentary as having pocketed millions in his role as a senior IRA man.
Mr Burnside said Thomas "Slab" Murphy from South Armagh had been accused in the series The Criminal Rich List.
The programme alleged Mr Murphy had amassed stg£35 million in his role as chief of staff of the Provisional IRA.
Mr Burnside wanted to know "why Mr Murphy, and his two colleagues in the army council, Gerry Adams, the president of Sinn Féin and Martin McGuinness, the chief negotiator, are not under investigation by the Police Service of Northern Ireland for their continuing involvement in major international criminal activity".
Commons leader Mr Peter Hain said it was not a matter for him and if Mr Burnside wanted a debate he could apply for one.
