London - Labour insisted its stance on the single currency was firm last night, despite an anti-euro offensive by a leading trade unionist. Mr Dave Prentice, deputy general secretary of Unison, told the Times he believed early entry into the single currency would cost jobs and trigger a grass roots revolt. Mr Blair is due to attend the TUC conference next month.
