There were unconfirmed reports early today that the UN General Assembly will postpone its annual gathering of world leaders due to begin next week because of the terrorist attacks on the US. The delay would mark the first time in the history of the UN that the General Assembly postponed the high-level round of speech-making.
Associated Press reported there was support from the 189 member nations for a delay because of security difficulties in New York.
