The British Government will ask Sky to share live coverage of England's Euro 2004 qualifier against Turkey with a terrestrial broadcaster.

Sports minister Richard Caborn is to ask the satellite broadcaster to share the match with BBC or ITV in an attempt to dissuade fans from travelling to the game.

The FA have declined their ticket allocation for the October 11th match in Istanbul and advised England fans not to travel in a bid to avoid a repeat of the trouble which marred the meeting between the two sides in Sunderland earlier this year.
