U2 top the list of nominees for the Grammy Awards, with eight nominations including those for best album, best song and record-of-the-year.

Soulful newcomers India Arie and Alicia Keys followed with seven and six nominations each, respectively. The R&B divas will compete against each other for best new artist, a category that also includes pop singers David Gray, Nelly Furtado and rock band Linkin Park.

Classical conductor and composer Pierre Boulez also picked up six nominations.

Veteran rocker Bob Dylan was among the many acts to score three nominations, including album of the year for his acclaimed opus Love and Theft.

Other album-of-the-year nominees were U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind, India Arie's Acoustic Soul, Outkast's Stankoniaand the soundtrack to the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The winners will be announced on February 27th at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
