Two remanded over attempted raid

Two men have been remanded in custody charged with the attempted robbery of a post office in Dublin last week.

Two men have been remanded in custody charged with the attempted robbery of a post office in Dublin last week.

David Atkinson (40) of Windmill Road, Crumlin and Gerard Carey (32), also of Windmill Road, Crumlin were before Dublin District Court this morning.

Both were charged with attempted robbery on Drumcondra post office, Lower Drumcondra Road, on Friday October 16th, contrary to section 12(1)(a) and (3) of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001.

Judge Gerard Haughton remanded both men in custody to appear before Cloverhill court this Friday, October 23rd.
