Two on crack cocaine charge

A husband and wife, both aged 23, appeared in court in Derry yesterday charged with possessing crack cocaine

A husband and wife, both aged 23, appeared in court in Derry yesterday charged with possessing crack cocaine. Their appearance followed the discovery of the drug, together with others, by members of the RUC drugs squad in a house at Strathfoyle, on the outskirts of Derry, at the weekend.

Mr John Louis James Harkin, of 70 Clonmeen Drive, Strathfoyle, is charged with possessing crack cocaine. He was also charged with the unlawful possession of ecstasy tablets and with possessing these with intent to supply.

Ms Donna Marie Harkin, of the same address, was jointly charged with possessing crack cocaine. She was remanded on police bail for a week. Her husband was remanded in custody for a week.
