WATERVILLE - Two elderly nuns were killed and two injured when a man broke into a Catholic convent and beat and stabbed them, police said yesterday.
Authorities said they arrested Mr Mark Bechard (37), of Waterville, Maine, at the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament convent while the attack was underway on Saturday. The dead were identified as Mother Superior Edna Cardozo (68), and Sister Mary Fortin (67).
