The Government has nominated two new judges for the High Court, Mr Aindrias O Caoimh SC and Mr Joseph Finnegan SC. Mr O Caoimh, a graduate of UCD, was called to the Bar in 1972 and became a senior counsel in 1994. He is a member of the Garda Siochana Appeals Board and of the Irish Legal Terms Advisory Committee. Mr Finnegan, also a UCD graduate, entered the legal profession as a solicitor in 1966. He became a barrister in 1978 and a senior counsel in 1990. He was assistant secretary to the Law Society from 1968 to 1972.
