Two men remain in garda custody today following an attempted bank raid in Dublin yesterday.

Two men remain in garda custody today following an attempted bank raid in Dublin yesterday.

Staff at the Allied Irish Bank in Crumlin were loading an ATM machine when it is alleged the pair threatened them with a gun.

Gardaí foiled the raid, with one officer firing a shot. Nobody was injured.

Two loaded guns were seized at the scene and €700,000 in cash recovered.

The accused, aged in their 30s and 40s, are being questioned at Crumlin and Sundrive garda stations.
