One man was killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Co Laois yesterday. The accident happened at about 11 a.m. at Crettyard, on the Kilkenny to Athy Road.
The dead man was named as Mr Vincent Nolan (19), from Loughglass, Ballyadams, Co Laois.
A man in his 80s was killed and a woman seriously injured in a collision between a car and a van in Co Kildare yesterday. The accident occurred at a crossroads at Brockagh, Robertstown, Co Kildare, at about 4.45 p.m.
The man was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver was taken to Naas General hospital, where her condition was described as serious. The van driver escaped serious injury.
