Two people have been seriously injured in double stabbing incident in Co Louth this afternoon.

Two people have been seriously injured in double stabbing incident in Co Louth this afternoon.

A man and a woman, who are both believed to be in their late 30s, were stabbed in an apartment in Fitzwilliam Court on Dyer Street in Drogheda shortly after 2pm.

Both were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.

The man is in a critical condition while the woman is described as being stable.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

The scene has been sealed off and an investigation is ongoing.
