A 59-year-old man died after being hit by a car on the N2 Dublin to Derry road at Castleshane outside Monaghan town at 6.25 p.m. yesterday.
The man's name was not released by gardai last night.
A woman in her early twenties was killed in two-car crash on the Thomastown to Kilkenny road at 6.15 pm. last night.
The driver of the second car was injured.
