National polling over the weekend shows Barack Obama edging ahead of Mitt Romney by a statistically insignificant 0.3% with Mr Obama’s support measured at 47.5% and Mr Romney at 47.2% . However, in the five top swing states, the picture is slightly better for the president, most notably in Ohio.
Ohio: Obama +2.8% (up 0.5%)
Florida: Romney +1.4% (up 0.2%)
Virginia: Romney +0.3% (down 0.2%)
