Police are seeking witnesses after two teenage boys were shot in front of families and young children at a McDonald's restaurant in Brixton, south London.

The two, who are believed to be 17, were taken to hospital after the shooting yesterday evening. Police today said both were in a stable condition.

One was hit in the chest and the other in the arm. The lone attacker fled on foot down a nearby street.

A McDonald's spokeswoman said CCTV footage showed the victims had been "popping in and out" of the restaurant at the time of the attack.
