Two men, aged 19 and 20, were attacked by eight masked men in the Co Down town of Bangor yesterday and beaten with baseball bats in what the RUC describes as a paramilitary attack.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man is recovering in hospital from injuries he received in a so-called "punishment" beating in east Belfast. Four masked men, who claimed to be from the UVF, broke into his home in Trassey Close, Cregagh, on Saturday.
