A man (25) and a boy (15) were arrested in Cork in connection with the robbery of cigarettes from a shop in the Glanmire area of the city.
It has been alleged the two are behind a series of robberies of shops in the south and west areas over a number of years, netting hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The pair were arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act while driving in Mitchelstown, Co Cork, yesterday evening.
